O1/A1- pre-study

Develop a systematic study to shed light in understanding the ways Romani students, co-students and their teachers can become more aware when communicating with each other (yet with others too) in their meaning creation creative writing and actively participate in their learning. .More specifically, research design includes creating a baseline regarding:

(a) Romani students’ integration in the classroom,

(b) reading and writing abilities test as in some European countries the initial language learning level starts at 6 years,

(c) self-expression of emotions based on recent studies on emotional mapping and

(d) the ways these emotions are externalised via a multimodal own story.

(e) Summarise the conclusions in a Framework

O1/A2- Innovative learning methodologies in the form of a white paper.

This involves utilising the pre-study results to create new and innovative methodological teaching and learning approaches based on multiliteracies and the multimodal learning tools.

O1/A3- Develop a teachers training course

Teachers’ training curriculum will be created in order to be incorporated in a teachers’ training course utilising the project outcomes. Multiliteracies is the innovative learning approach,

this is the students’ own meaning creation using the Multimodal innovative learning tools as an alternative, communicative, intercultural and interdisciplinary teaching method. Such learning approach and tools unique mediation aids the communication channels between the Romani student and their co-students, the teachers and the syllabus

O1/A4-Training of Trainers

The training of trainers aims to prepare the teachers that will ensure the Pilot Testing activities.

O1/A5- Pilot Testing

The piloting aims to use/apply the innovative learning tools via innovative multimodal tools, to assist the children in their collaborative meaning making via Multiliteracies education with

respect to several aspects:

  • potential for pupils’ engagement
  • usability

There will be 5 pilots involving 125 pupils. Includes:

  • Define Pilot guidelines, including setting up tools to evaluate the collection of learning tools and the learning process
  • Create Pilot testing groups in all countries involved
  • Conduct the Pilots
  • Evaluate the Pilots and produce Improvements Report

In order to stimulate pupils’ participation, the partnership will organise a contest

O1/A6-Methodological Reports

Analysis on the methodology proposed by the project based on the pilot testing experiences, bringing further knowledge to academics and educators working on pedagogy. Includes:

  • Review Pilot testing results
  • Description of good practices
  • Summarise the descriptions and learning lessons in a report
